International Lolita Day Is Here Again!

International Lolita Day ’12 Summer Edition, it’s almost upon us! Next week, on June 2nd, Lolitas all over the world will celebrate the frillyness that is Lolita! International Lolita Day, abbreviated ILD, takes place twice a year: on the first Saturday of June and on the first Saturday of December. Although on the first day of June it isn’t summer yet, we still call it the summer edition (I sooo copied this little part from last year). Since I totally forgot about last winter’s ILD, I made sure I didn’t this time! Despite the fact that I’m really busy with preparing for my last audition on that day, I hope I’ll be able to dress up anyway. I have an outfit in mind that I want to try, so I’m hoping I’ll have time. ^^

Do you have any plans? Are you going to dress up? Are you going to take a stroll in the park, followed around by your personal photographer? Or are you staying at home, enjoying the (hopefully) beautiful weather by lying in the grass while looking for Lolita prints in the clouds? I’d love to know, so tell me if you like!

Have a lovely Lolita Day! ♥

Casual Loli for a Video Roomtour

A little while ago, someone asked me on my Formspring if I could do a videotour of my room and wardrobe. I really loved the idea and since apparently there were actually people interested, I decided to go for it. Of course, this would be a good reason to dress up in Lolita again! I decided to try some Casual Loli this time, which was more difficult than I thought.
I tried to combine black and light pink with accents of mint and bright pink. The skirt I’m wearing is Baby, the Stars Shine Bright’s Sugar Rose Cake.
I’m not completely happy with the result, but I do think I put in the right amount of Lolita and normal clothing to officially call it ‘casual’. ^^ Unfortunately, two days before I had a horrible day and I think you can see it in my face. My fringe has also gotten too long, which gives me a bit of a tired expression. -_-

My friend Sydney from Sunny Doodle showed me a great and very easy to use photo editing site that I absolutely love! It allows you to edit your pictures in lovely and unique ways. Normal pictures almost seem boring now! ^^ Here are some examples with pictures of my outfit.
This picture looks so much more mysterious and magical with just
adding a bit of a blue-ish shade to it.
I have a rainbow in my room!
I love this necklace! It says 'I do believe in fairies', one of my favourite sentences
from 'Peter Pan'. The sparkles really give it the finishing touch!
Ornaments make everything better.
This is my favourite picture of that day, both edited and non-edited. It shows more
of how I looked that day: happy and sweet, instead of the ‘tired-look’. XD

I hope to upload my videotour soon! I’ll have to edit it first (or at least, I’m going to try it. I’ve never edited videos before).
Have a nice day! ♥

For the Love of Simplicity

As a reader of my blog, you probably know that I am a huge fan of Lolita dresses and skirts with prints. With lots of pastels. Containing animals or candy. With a cute name. Preferably Angelic Pretty. But I am not the kind of girl who jumps at every new (or old) release. For example: when Angelic Pretty announced they would re-release Toy Fantasy, I didn’t throw a party in my room which only I attended in celebration of the new-but-also-old-release . I thought: ‘That’s nice! I like that print in white!’ and moved on. Oh, for the record: there’s nothing wrong with throwing a party for yourself. ^^ Just so you don’t think I’m against solo-parties.

Anyway, back on topic. My wishlist is filled with Angelic Pretty dresses (and the occasional Baby, the Stars Shine Bright) and it continues to grow, because I often fall in love with prints once I see them on pictures being worn. But today, a couple of hours ago, I fell in love with an Angelic Pretty dress without print! Even better: its design is so simplistic I had to rub my eyes to see if my heart was beating faster for a reason. And yes, it was!

The dress in question: Sugary Baby Doll jumperskirt. The pink one is my favourite. This dress is so simple, so sweet yet so elegant, so perfect for any occasion! It has the Lolita shape, colour and beauty, but it won’t draw as much attention as, let’s say, an over the top Milky Planet outfit! I saw this dress on Tumblr and my God, it hit me right in the face! I jumped to the Angelic Pretty site and I even hesitated for a slight moment while my heart was yelling: ‘Why not buy it?’ and my mind was shouting: ‘Why buy it?’ I’ve created a strict spending-plan that doesn’t allow room to buy dresses at the moment, let alone a dress I just met. Discovered. Excuse me. Anyway, while my heartbeat was gradually slowing down again, I started looking around on HelloLace. This time, I skipped the OTT prints and went looking for the simple, printless dresses I usually didn’t really look at.
It made me realise how much lovely dresses Angelic Pretty has released that many people don’t even know of! I’d like to show you some of my favourites:

1. Sugar Time jumperskirt 2. Pure Doll jumperskirt 3. Dream Doll jumperskirt 4. Gradation Frill jumperskirt 5. French Polkadot jumperskirt 6. Milky Polkadot Chiffon jumperskirt 7. Secret Princess jumperskirt 8. Sweets Dessert jumperskirt 9. Polkadot Pleated Sailor jumperskirt

Ok, I’ll be honest: I have overreacted a little in this post. Two of these dresses, no. 2 and 5, are already on my wishlist, because I think they’re gorgeous. But it’s true that I’ve really (re)discovered Angelic Pretty’s printless dresses. I’m defintely going on the hunt for some more! And while I’m at it, maybe some BtSSb too! So, do you have any printless dresses you’re completely in love with? I'd love to know!
